Diablo 2 Resurrected: How to Swap to Legacy Mode Graphics

diablo-2-resurrected-tristram

Like many modern remakes, Diablo 2: Resurrected allows players to turn on legacy mode and swap to the original graphics at any time. Diablo 2 is over 20 years old at this point, and the original graphics mode is really only there for novelty and purists who want to experience the game exactly as it was in 2000. Thankfully, you can instantly swap between new and old at the press of a button, no loading screens required. Here’s how to swap to legacy graphics in Diablo 2: Resurrected.

How to Turn on Legacy Mode in Diablo 2 Resurrected

In order to turn on legacy graphics in Diablo 2: Resurrected, you need to press a certain combination of buttons on your controller:

  • G key on PC
  • LT + View on Xbox
  • L2 + Touchpad on PlayStation
  • ZL + Minus on Nintendo Switch

You can tweak the legacy mode graphics to your liking in the game’s settings menu. Simply go to the Options menu and select Video. There, you will find the Legacy Video Options setting. You can change the resolution, lighting, and more on this screen.

Diablo 2: Resurrected is a fairly faithful remake of the original classic dungeon crawler, so being able to change to the old graphics and see the game in its original form is an appreciated touch. Since the game is so faithful to the original, however, some of its mechanics can seem a bit dated, especially for players who have only played Diablo 3. Check out our guide on how to identify items in Diablo 2 if you need help.

Diablo 2: Resurrected is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
