Trainers can get shiny Alolan Geodude in Pokemon GO. This is especially true during the Alolan Geodude Community Day event happening Saturday, May 21. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. local time in your time zone. The chances of finding a shiny version of Alolan Geodude are actually increased with the frequency of the Pokemon’s appearance also increasing during the event.
The gray color of the original Alolan Geodude is changed to bright orange with its shiny version.

During the event, trainers can use their saved up Incense or Lure Modules to attract more Pokemon which will help increase the likelihood of finding a shiny Alolan Geodude. Both items will last for three hours so be sure to use one of each for the entire event. Using a Lure Module at a Poke Stop will also increase trainers’ chances of finding shiny Alolan Geodudes. Even if the Alolan Geodude is not shiny, it is still important to catch them for candies.
