Battlefield 2042: How to Play With Friends
Battlefield 2042 has arrived and it looks like it’s going to be a serious contender to Call of Duty: Vanguard for military first-person shooter supremacy. Battlefield 2042 leaps into the near future with this title and with it comes a bit of a changing of the guard when it comes to its patented, realistic gameplay. This means the pace is picked up considerably and matches will be as chaotic as ever as vehicles return in a big way as well.
That hasn’t been a negative thing so far though as the action is still as intense as ever and the multiplayer hosts a whopping 128 players on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC while the PS4 and Xbox One version get 64 players at launch on October 22nd. If you’re getting into the action early, you may want to invite a friend to the ensuing chaos, so here’s how to play with friends in Battlefield 2042.
How to Play With Friends in Battlefield 2042
In order to play with friends in Battlefield 2042, you can create a party and manually team up with your friends who are also online. Just invite them after creating the party and you should be good to go. There is an issue when it comes to cross-play though as currently there are some serious limitations in this regard.
Does Battlefield 2042 Have Crossplay?
If you and your friend are on different platforms, you will not be able to create a party with them. That doesn’t mean there is no chance to play with your friends though, the situation just becomes a little more tricky. See, in order to get into a game with your friend on a different platform, you have to be searching for a game at the exact same time as them and hope that you get into the same one. Once inside, you should be able to communicate with them as you normally would like you were in a party, The problem is it won’t be exclusive, so the experience might not be what you’re looking for
This should only be a temporary measure though as the full release of Battlefield 2042 should have full party creating capability between platforms. The gameplay is a whole lot faster than what you’re used to in the Battlefield series and feels a lot closer to Call of Duty than any of the games in the past did.
Battlefield 2042 is available now on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
